News: Tax Policies
|
I meant socialist in that we all basically get the same percentage decrease across the board. Practically, this doesnt happen if the rich hit the AMT...then they will always hit the AMT...they dont get a change, but then again, they are paying the minimum and probably a lower percentage than the middle class. Actually, the tax cuts in that reform ended up as a wash for the rich because the AMT didnt change, but then again they are rich. That is what the Bush Tax cuts achieved.
Since either tax cut lowers taxes, it is the end result that is what would make the basic 3% across the board cut more of a conservative approach in the end, but the application was basically the same for everyone (kind of a socialist application- imo).
The Bush tax reform lowered the capital gains taxes by 2 percent Still way to high, but it did get lowered some.
The thing that bothers me is that we talk every 4 years like there is a way to make sure that there are no poor in the country. The only way that can happen is if we all have the same job and honestly, even in that case, we would still have Performance Reviews and there would have to be a people that were better than others and it would be recognized in pay. I guess, all the people that studied and got really good jobs can give all their money back to the poor, but then why go through the hard work of studies? There will always be poor in a culture. The only way to eliminate poor from your population is to bring in others to do the jobs that the poor do illegally. Then you just have a hidden poor popluation. I am not saying that we shouldnt help the poor, but the idea that a small tax cut is going to relieve their burden of being poor is insane.
