So people who base their ethics and politics on a religious standard have no right to have their values represented in law, but those whose ethics and politics come from secular humanism or from an atheist background are allowed to express their values without restraint? That extreme, as you have presented it, is as dangerous as the religious denying the non-religious a public forum in political debate and it is as hypocritical.
There is no constitutional dictate restricting the entry of religious thought into the decisions made by our representatives and those who are advocating certain positions. The only restriction found in the Constitution is the fostering of one religion over the another or restricting the practice of religion by Government mandate.
You may hate it when Religion is brought into politics, but it is a legitimate form of expression, as well as constitutionally protected one at that.
