News: Pres. Barack Obama's Next Move

Awwww...why don't you be like most of the press and say that even though these are the same people that were there 7 years ago (and therefore linked to today's problems), that they are not GWB or anyone associated to GWB, so therefore...they are change. One commentator on CNN today was saying how Obama is uniting the Democrats that were splintered and bitter enemies (Hillary's potential appointment) and equating it to Lincoln's cabinet of enemies. They were also saying how we had to wait for all the appointments because there might be change in later appointments. YEAH...HUD will see evolutionary CHANGE! If this is so majestic and unique...they better look at what Bush did in his first term in office for positions. He got nearly every former rival within the party (nomination) and potential future rival within the party into his cabinet (Powell, Ashcroft, Ridge, Thompson). Call this unique, but it is really a wonderful move that has been done before to put the highest potential rivals for the second term of office under the same umbrella of the first term. Basically, if things go badly for Obama...they go badly for his cabinet. Hillary included. This basically just guarantees that she cannot run against him 4 years from now! Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad deal for Hillary. If she went back to the senate, then there is little there for her, as she is not quite a Sr. Senator and would have little chance of grabbing a committee chairmanship. They will point to keeping Robert Gates as Secretary of Defense and say SEE...we are keeping a republican...but Gates isnt even registered as a republican. He just did his job well, which is a good thing and actually good that it can be recognized without the party blinders on. R. Lugar will end up somewhere in the cabinet as the real token republican and ultra vision of change! YIPPEE! So much CHANGE, my head is spinning! CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN! CHANGE WE NEED! Yeah...the name plates on the doors will all change after 1/20/2009. Did we need it? Who knows...but that was going to happen regardless of who got elected...because it is anything but Bush.
