The Game Master says...

The inquisitive and seemingly mistrusting supervisor observes your demeanor as you give your answer. He pauses awhile and says,

"OK, so you have a nice trip right?"

As you quickly leave his office you can't help but think that you may have given more information about your intended destination than you would have liked to but under the precarious circumstances you justly assume that there was no other viable choice.

You once again form in a line and check in. Your items are checked on to the flight and you take your leave of the ship's port and within an hour you are in 'Sector B' having landed at the airport safely. While getting your bags you note that 'Sector B' is better known by the locales as "Portão do Inferno".

GM: Those with language skills knows this to be "Hell's Gate".

On the ground, you look for transport. You notice that outside of the airport everything is very low tech with the general demeanor of everyone being laid back save for those that have their beat up wheeled cars shouting at you from the main road in a heavy accent, "Taxi, taxi!".

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Uhura and Major goes to inquire about a map for the area.

He locates a trinket shop just outside the airport that has one for tourists. He can get this map for 5 CRs. It is a basic map showing the best destination spots for sight seekers which in like of your disguised profession may actually come in handy. The first thing Major realizes as he is about to purchase it is that in this part of the world still uses paper money. He is encouraged to use a nearby cambio.

Meanwhile...

The others seek transportation, and it is all around them. Taxi drivers hail you to come into their cabs while asking you,

"Where to? Where to sirs?"

You realize that you do not know the name of the place off hand and saying "Sector B" would be odd based on your last encounter with the supervisor. Seeing that you are at a lost to the name of the place you are going encourages them more to seek you as their passenger.

"I take you... I take you misters."

They continue desperate for the job.

The Game Master says...

At the cambio the exchange is 2:1 so with 100 CRs Major obtains: 200 Real.

Major then gets his tourist map for 30 Real. He sees Sector B as being labelled, "Estrada Estreita" heading East.

GM: Make sure to keep track of this in your equipment, do not mix it with CRs.

On another platform not far from where you are at present Seth and Nathan notice large ATV transport buses picking up passengers. To the front and sides of the ATV bus are digital signs saying "Estrada Estreita" but they do not know what it means.

The rest of you look like tourists - lost. Those of you just standing around with no specific action should roll against Soul.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

GM: Those of you exchanging CRs do so at the same rate I gave last time. Make sure to keep a record of it in the same manner I advised above.

Major decides to inquire about tickets and transport. He learns that one of the ATV buses stops by every 30 minutes and heads towards "Estrada Estreita". The cost is 40 Real each to sit in a large ATV bus. You carry on your backpacks with you or store them in the compartment of the ATV bus.

Some of you follow Major's lead.

GM: Ensure to deduct your expenditures from the Real you exchanged.

Thomas stands around unsure of what to do next he becomes isolated in the commotion of exchanging CRs and buying tickets. While Thomas is in a stupor of thought a group of rough young boys bump into him throwing him to the ground. They immediately become apologetic and start speaking to him very fast in a language he does not understand while helping him to his feet. Thomas can feel hands all about him as he is flustered by the 'attention'. Later Thomas will learn something is missing as he fixes his backpack.

GM: Thomas can choose for ONE item to be missing from his backpack.

Sometime during these events...

Shane disappears.

A little later...

Now that some of you have your Real and tickets you stand waiting for transportation. About five minutes later an ATV parks next to the curb for you to board. As you settle into your seats you notice through the ATV bus' window that Thomas is fumbling with his items at the other end of the platform. You also notice that Shane is not there with him but your mind is settled with Shane as you know he has an independent mission to fulfill as part of the overall assignments you were each given.

GM: Shane is out of the game. I gave more than ample time for a return and it has been more than 2 weeks (usually I will cater for 1 week tops). Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Nathan's gesture is more than welcoming as the man patiently waits an extra five minutes for you to assemble yourselves on the bus. Once everyone is on board the bus driver gives a signal, closes the door and begins driving.

GM: Ensure to keep track of your expenditures and exchanges.

You drive for what seems to be about 20 minutes and some of the passengers around you (some foreigners and mostly locals) begin to engage some of you in friendly conversation with accents representative of their respective countries.

The ATV bus is not top class but it is rather powerful and convenient as it makes its way into a narrow road surrounded by thick forest and mountains. After another 10 minutes you find the bus begins to slow down a lot and then comes to a stop. You start to look around but do not see any reason for the bus to stop. Then you notice the driver raises his hands in the air in an act of surrender.

Ahead of where you are sitting you hear one woman shout out, "Guerrilheiros!".

The Game Master says...

You all try to remain still as a raggedy native jungle soldier boards the bus and shouts out,

"Sair! Sair!"

You see the people in front of you nervously rise to their feet and single out of the bus. The soldier then motions with his hand for you to get out. Outside you can now see jungle soldiers in formation around the bus and in the jungle itself watching. They are equipped with very big guns, rifles and other intimidating hardware from a lower tech era.

The Game Master says...

Save for Thomas all of you leave the bus in a mode of surrender. The guerrillas line you up near the side of the bus. They turn you around, make you put your hands on the bus while leaning forward, spread your feet apart and begin to roughly search you.

You do notice that they are not as rough with you as they are with the natives, in fact they shout at the natives as though they were an enemy.

What seems to be one of the more senior soldiers of the bunch comes closer to where you stand and asks in a very thick accent,

"What business you in country mine?"

You can tell that he does not know your language very well, not fortunate considering it would be a terrible thing at this point to have misunderstandings in communication.

Meanwhile...

A soldier boards the bus and sees Thomas still seated, it angers the soldier who now is pointing his gun at Thomas while yelling something that he cannot understand.

GM: I need a soul roll for Felipe. Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Thomas makes it off the ATV bus and is immediately searched next to the rest of you. After padding all of you down you are told to get back on the bus. As you are in the process of doing so you notice that they have separated a pregnant native woman from the rest of you. They are talking to her harshly and she begins to cry. At one point you see one of the men slap her across the face causing her to bow her head down - the tears still falling and it disturbs you.
