New ICANN policy

Your Domain Is Taken!

According to one popular domain registrar:

The previous ICANN policy allowed us to deny requests to transfer your domain names to another registrar unless you explicitly confirmed to us your intent to transfer. The new ICANN policy removes that protection. When we receive a request to transfer your domain name to a new registrar, we will still attempt to contact you to confirm that you authorized the request. However, if you do not respond, or are not able to respond within 5 days, your domain name WILL be transferred.

How do you feel about this new policy? If you own your own domain, have you locked it?

Taken Domain Your

I think this policy stinks. I own the bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?showforum=120 domain name, and I would really hate to lose it.

How do I "lock" it?

Go to your domain registrar, login and then there should be an option to 'Lock Domain' under your management system. If you do not have that option, simply contact your support team and ask them to make the change for you. If they do not have that or they want to charge you to lock your domain then MOVE!
