Albertans will go to the polls on March 3.

Premier Ed Stelmach made the announcement less than an hour after Lt.-Gov. Norman Kwong delivered the speech from the throne on Monday afternoon to open a new session of the legislature. This will be the first major election test for Stelmach since taking over as premier in December 2006 from Ralph Klein.

Well I know little of their traditions I can point out it is a Province. Nunavut and Yukon and The North West Territories are the only regions that are referred to as Territories. Also has any one heard of a small event called Calgary Stampede?

Here are the ones I was taught in school... Flower is the Wild Rose the Bird is the Great Horned Owl, animal is the Big Horned Sheep, and the Lodge pole pine.

I always think of large ranches and oil wells. Oh and prairie dogs and the Edmonton Mall.
