Title: Murder rate

Comments: The latest four murders in seven hours just certify the galloping rate of murders on this island. The brutal murders of two of the victims displayed the callousness and vicious hardened attitudes of the killers roaming around in our suburbs. We now have too many loose killers on this island who are now targeting anyone in order to fulfil their evil desire. It has now become necessary to immediately re-instate the death penalty in order to reduce the increase in more killers, and in the long term reduction in the the annual rate of murders. It really does not matter now how efficient, experienced or educated any new commission of police may be, he together with the present police manpower NEVER be able to reduce the annual rate of murders on this island under the present conditions and situation. Whilst the death penalty may reduce the flow of new murderers by acting as a deterrent. It will not stop the perpetual slaughter of innocent citizens or even reduce the monthly rate because of the large amount of killers on the loose here. These murderers need to be caught and brought to the gallows in order to halt the present rate of random killings .We simple need immediate outside help. We just can't afford to wait for years for new recruits to mature and gain the experience necessary to combat the present brigade of killers on the loose or cope effectively with the general, but serious crime scenario and lawlessness that has now taken hold of this island. Any further delay in taking the necessary steps to curb the random killing of more of our innocent citizens ,and is only giving the murderers and hardened criminals the upper hand, and a nod and a wink to continue their evil intent without any real or effective hindrance.

Title: Politicians attitude towards local murders

Comments: Politicians over the [past] decades have shown very little interest in the daily slaughter of the ordinary citizens. The only time that they bombard them with promises in at election time. Where crime and lawlessness are concerned they merely offer lip service, and rely [solely] on the police to deal with the hardened and professional criminals. Things have become so bad here, that the police are limited in their efforts to deal with the vast amount of lawlessness by those expert criminals of status. Among the many unresolved cases, two outstanding examples come to mind ,these are the investigations concerning [..] and the murder of Dana Seetahal. If they really had any real interest at heart of all of our ordinary citizens they would have by now done something constructive to stop the multitude of random killings that takes place here annually. They remain protected by living in gated communities where any ordinary intruder is immediately confronted by their paid guards. So far they have not been targeted by our roaming killers. However if this changes and they become targets they will certainly introduce immediate measures to make their living conditions are safer. A lot of our internal problems here, where crime is concerned is caused by the lack of interest in our crime scenario by our politicians. They are quite prepared to sit back and let things go on as they are. They are only interested in political matters that offers 'kick backs ' or personal financial gains to themselves and their upper class associates. The ordinary [citizens] are paying the price with their lives because of the lack of responsibility by these elected representatives who have so far failed to provide the required security to the lower classes of this nation.

Title: Crime problem in Trinidad

Comments: Very recently I really believed that Trinidad is a haven for Afro/Trinidadians because of the police statistics and other media reports on every day crime at the lower level of our society. However on taking a closer look at overall crime here on this island, I have now come to the following conclusion. The impression given is that WHEN educated Trinidadians achieved any position of authority or status they tend to indulge in the higher sophisticated levels of crime until they are caught. Crimes such as corruption and fraud. This is clearly evident by the everyday high ranking individuals despite being caught in the activities of these two major crimes here, and because of ,either their status or positions of authority are dealt by the judiciary and police in a lenient manner. This is reflected by the fact that although many upper class citizens of status and in responsible positions are caught dabbling in these crimes no one is held behind bars for such misdemeanours here. The police and our politicians seem to turn a blind eye to such crimes ,however the police seem bent on degrading the ordinary citizens by spending most of their time when on duty chasing, arresting ,charging and helping with the assistance of the judiciary to put them behind bars. This action and habit has now labelled practically all ordinary citizens particularly Afro/ Trinidadians as potential or harden criminals. On the other hand those criminals risen to status and positons of authority despite colour, class, or creed are allowed to walk free and keep their loot despite the damage and the bad examples set to the younger generation, and the shame they bring to our nation.

Title: The outlook of crime in Trinidad

Comments: This nation is in turmoil despite what the politicians may say. As a young nation we have lost the plot to improve our nation and our individual personal respect and morals. We have very little to show since our independence where living conditions of our ordinary citizens are concerened. Without our natural resources of gas and oil we would have been a fogotten island. Our politicians with the assistance of most of their hard line rich supporters have encouraged personal profiteering and greed. They have abandonded the ethics of being true politicians that had set out to improve the living conditions and other things that matters to their citizens and this nation. Over the past decades this has been reflected in ther amount of cases of corruption by those of status and postions of authority. It is noticebable that since our independence crime has escalated to an unbelieveable proportion and is now uncontrollable. Murders, corruption and kidnappings are now in the forefront of our crime scenario ,and no one in authority seem to really care or are doing anything contstructive to deter our murderers, kidnappers or those reponsible corrupt individuals. The police are left on their own to deal with all and sundry where crime is concerned on this island whilst the reponsible politicians only offer lip service ,but really keep out of the firing line. They have become immune to the daily slaughter of our innocent citizens and have allowed a vast amount of loose killers on this island to continue without hindrance by not having a deterrent against murder due to political differences and personal wrangling, and spitefulness. If anyone here really believes that the crime situation here will improve ,then they are living in cuckoo land. Things will continue as they are ,mainly because the nation remains too racially divided and the politicians are too engrossed in feathering their own nest by 'kick backs' from projects of grandeau and by pulling the wool over the eyes of the ordinary citizens in persuading them that for example new roads, highways and other unneeded infrastructure is progress. The general living conditions of our citizens are neglected. One only have to look at the deprivation of those living in a policital stronghold of Laventille to see that no real progress has been made since our independence. It was reported that citizens there are still using outside latrines. In fact, in the last decade more districts in this nation were showing early signs of joining the status of Laventille, and some has since done so. However, accompanying this trend, is the galloping criminal activities in these areas due to neglect and lack of improvement in the environment and supply of welfare amenties and improve educational facilities, which offers the incentive for the inhabitants of these districts, especially the young to behave badly. The future looks bleak and the police are now, and will still be unable to control the situation without more inmmediate increase in manpower and experts in crime detection. In the mean time, even in this time of recession ,our politician will continue to find methods of extracting the countries wealth to satisfied the presonal financial desires of themselves and their wealthy associates at the expense of the lives of our ordinary citizens.

Comments: Crime is out of control in T&T. The criminals are murdering regular folks for their homes and vehicle manslaughter goes unreported. The criminals are also gassing individuals with chemicals in the home, public gathering, churches, market places, buses, taxis you name it. Those targeted for chemical gassing (Similar to what was done to the Jews in Nazi Germany) are gasses at night while sleeping.

Trinidad & Tobago's Crime Problem

Title: CRIME PREVENTION

Comments: The attempt by, Mr Rowley to try to sort out our crime scenario is now too late. It is very similar to the recent call from Mr Dillon to declare war on crime here which has so far proved fruitless. It all amounts to opening the stable when the horse has already bolted. This would be a brilliant idea and may succeed if we did not already have an established brigade of corrupt masterminds of corruption, kidnappers, police officers and politicians, accompanied by a corrupt judiciary here, that was created after our independence by greedy politicians. The fact that those of status committing serious crimes here are protected and are allowed to walk free sends a clear message to the ordinary citizens that crime pays well here. The fact that there is no death penalty and hardly any real enforcement of law and order together with an abundance of lawlessness which is now also noticeable among school children makes this nation a haven for budding and hardened criminals.I believe this kind of attempt has been made several times before and in the long run made absolutely no difference. It is merely a repeated cry for help from a government who have run out of a solution to our crime problems especially with regards to everyday murders. It is the usual ploy to quell the anxiety of the public when there is a spike in murders and other serious crimes here. We can expect more of the same again and again. If no real constructive solution is implemented. The most glaring problem is that the police have failed to apprehend many murderers, and we now have hundreds of killers roaming around searching for innocent citizens to slaughter. There is also just too much protection and turning of a blind eye both by politicians and the police to crimes committed by those of status and wealth of this country. This sends a message down the line to potential criminals that they too may be able to get away with their illegal activities. The heart of the matter is that we have very few honest citizens of status here who are helpless in doing anything effective about our crime scenario. There are just too many Mr Bigs acting as obstacles in their way, preventing them from making any real attempt to solve our crime problems. This brings to mind the well organised and planned scheme by certain well know so called responsible citizens here,to get the rid of Mr Gibbs and his deputy. Politicians here know what is really needed, and that is why they resorted to appointing Mr Gibbs and his deputy. However, as soon as those in responsible positions realised that their underhand misdemeanours may come to light they embarked on a campaign to oust Mr Gibbs and his deputy, which was supported by corrupt senior police officials and politicians. They successfully achieved.what they deliberately set out to do. We have among us a sort of Mafia mob of high- ranking officials on this island, who are quite prepared to do anything to maintain our underhand criminal processes and procedures of deceit which has been assisting the destruction of the fabric of this nation for decades. We have now only two choices, accept the situation as it is, and carrying on living in fear of our lives, whilst also accepting that we are a totally corrupt nation,or summons outside help on a grand scale like it or not. Repeating the process of trying to resolve our crime problems year after year, without changing the structure of our police system and replacing our corrupt senior police officers and officials, with reliable and experienced experts which are the key to changing our crime scenario.

Title: CRIME PREVENTION

Comments: The only good thing so far about tomorrow's meeting between Mr Rowley and the leader of the opposition is that they are at last going to be sitting around the same table trying to find a solution to our crime problems. However, without an agreement to reinstate the death penalty and resume hangings of those already convicted of murder, they would be just wasting their time. It is essential that politicians here also come to an agreement to stop being under the control of the Privy Council. They must take matters into their on hands by taking the bull by its horns and if necessary step out of line where the rules of the Privy council are concerned especially with regards to dealing with murders on this island. Without taking the above -mentioned steps things will continue along its current path, and there will be no let- up in the rate of random slaughter of our innocent citizens .We just haven't got the police manpower to deal with our galloping rate of murders and other serious crimes. The reinstatement of the death penalty will have an immediate effect on the rate of murders thereby easing the pressure on the police.

Title: T&T Crime problem

Comments: The meeting between the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition has failed to deal immediately with the urgent matter of murders on this island. It all ended up as another talk shop, merely discussing the problem as has been done in previous decades without any real progress. Politicians here must comprehend that we are an independent nation. We cannot continue to use the Privy council rulings as a hard and fast implement, to deal with our criminals here. Surely over the last 54 years as an independent nation, we must have creates enough educated and professional legal citizens who are able to operate our own legal system effectively. Without constantly having to ask for guidance from the members of the Privy council We are being treated like children being regularly told what to do in respect of our legal system by those legal observers in a far away land who are failing to understand the real crime situation here. Locally many discussions on our attempt to bring about some form of correct and meaningful enforcement of law and order have all amounted to useless babblings and more of the same yapping in Parliament is again now expected. In the weeks to come whilst more useless yapping is taking place, dozens of our innocent citizens will be slaughtered. The killing spree will, in the long run, become commonplace in every district on this island caused mainly by our elected representatives failing to see eye to eye but however agreeing only to calm the anxiety of the public, by pulling the wool over the eyes of a vulnerable electorate. The masterminds of corruption, hardened criminals, and the common murderers are having a laugh at most of, of our senior politicians who are still running around like headless chickens, in the same manner,as they have been doing for decades by non-action in not creating any urgent constructive solution to our crime scenario yet again.
