Chemists devise revolutionary 3-D bone-scanning technique
A scanning technique for bones has been created that does not expose patients to X-ray radiation but provides exceptional 3-D images from which diagnoses and prognoses can be made. Their technique now provides information on bone quality as well as quantity. Ref. Source 3d.

X-rays can damage the body. I hate taking them because I don't know what kind of cell damage is taking at the time of the exray that will affect me later. If this new method proves safe it will really help people to stay safe from x-ray machines as well as give everyone involved a better picture of what's happening in the body.
