If you haven't already, you should go to the thread on how to GM a game here on this site. They have some great information and tips along with this site's rules. This is not your normal gaming site. It has a more mature audience and the mods keep it free of distractions. All in all, it's the best site I've ever been on.

That's very cool since 5E came around everybody is doing Medieval Goblin smashing magic heavy type stuff, and if that's what you're into that's cool.

I prefer pew pew and giant robots added in to the magic and goblin smashing.

Welcome to the community. Most of the role-players here love any kind of situation but they do prefer good role-play over the kill scenario so that should be good for your game.
