U.S. Officials say they've been told by French intelligence that one of the Paris attack suspects trained with al Qaeda in Yemen.

A U.S. Official says that the United States was given information from the French intelligence agency that Said Kouachi traveled to Yemen as late as 2011 on behalf of the al Qaeda affiliate there. Once in Yemen, he received a variety of weapons training from al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the official said. It is also possible Kouachi was trained in bomb making, a common jihadist training in Yemen.

Two other U.S. Officials confirmed that information about the Yemen travel was passed to the United States from the French intelligence agency. Ref. CNN

The lone remaining suspect wanted in a terrorism rampage in France -- Hayat Boumeddiene -- is thought no longer to be in the country, according to a French source close to the nation's security services.

Boumeddiene is believed to have left for Turkey "Of course to reach Syria" At the beginning of the year, around January 1 or 2, the source said.

If this is true, it would mean Boumeddiene was not in France at the time of Thursday's fatal shooting of a policewoman or Friday's grocery store siege in eastern Paris as originally reported.

Authorities offered no immediate explanation for the discrepancy but have said she is wanted in connection with a terrorist attack. Ref. CNN
