Device found on White House grounds poses no threat

A device has been found on the grounds of the White House. President Obama's spokesman Josh Earnest said that early indications suggest the device does not represent a threat to anyone in the building, the Associated Press reported. The president and first lady are currently on a three-day trip to India. Ref. USAToday

The device is likely a drone. Maybe someone somewhere is testing the White House to see how they handle certain things. A drone carrying something offensive is definitely a new threat they will need to consider. A mini-missile system maybe?

Its not a good thing to 'find' a devise and not know who put it there. Don't they have security cameras everywhere?

An anti air attack system for critical places would be good but one has to think if what is on site is worth that kind of cost. White house or parliament buildings perhaps, but we would have to limit it to that and what happens if it is just a kite that drifts in.

How paranoid can we get and who is not replaceable are the two items to be balanced out in such an equation. Or is it just a show of force to reassure the general public. After all a peoples must believe their country can keep them safe to keep anarchy at bay.

Its not about paranoia its about the fact that terrorists are smart enough to fly that kite in there with something to hurt, disorient or cause some kind of panic. We can't take anything lightly and I hope the SS at the White House aren't either.
