Those mice certainly do go through a lot of pressure for us humans but do you think there will ever be a cure for being overweight? I say exercise and diet, but scientists may have another angle:
When the same desire to eat is applied to be healthy then an equilibrium results that allows for the average body, not big, not small, instead just average - since average is what is considered normal.
Scientists find 'fat gene'
GENETICISTS have identified a key obesity gene, throwing up a possible target for drugs to tackle the dangerous and growing epidemic that takes the lives of 2.8 million adults each year. Ref. Source 5
Humans have three times more brown body fat
Compared to white fat, brown body fat burns through energy at an extraordinary rate. However, until now the proportion of brown fat in humans was thought to be quite small. Now a study has shown that the quantity of brown fat in humans is three times greater than previously known. As a consequence, new obesity and diabetes drugs that activate brown adipose tissue are expected to be more effective. Ref. Source 8r.
Yes some chemicals are very bad in some doses. The diet pills that were taken off the market were doing the job they were meant to do but people kept taking them until they reached a lethal dose. Now it is true that shivering can help you lose weight too. The body's natural reaction to lower temps is to increase metabolism to increase warmth in the body. Shivering has always been a sign that your body is cold and it helps to increase the temperature in the human body. This is all old science.
