Southern Darkness - Page 3

The Game Master says...

Wuhn goes ahead to check for traps, as he does so he lingers and the smell of rotten flesh really gets to him, he can hardly concentrate.

GM: Wuhu rolls standing D20 against Soul - a number the same or less than Soul is good - please let me know the result.

Wuhn determines that the passageway is safe to the left and you move on until Thomas sees the part of the cave where the heavy oak door stood. He shines his lantern and is surprised to find the door wide open!

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

Darkness Southern

The Game Master says...

As Wuhn starts to check for traps the horrific smell of so many rotten bodies is just too great and Wuhn starts to vomit uncontrollably and then falls to the ground. The others seeing this use their clothes to mask the smell even more. After awhile he regains himself.

Wuhn loses 1HP, please adjust your stats. Using these rolls: 57, 65, 40, 94, 77

Wuhn checks for traps but cannot be sure if t is safe. he does notice the sophistication with shich the door was made, he continues to say that such a door is usually made with the intention of not letting anything either in or out.

Thomas shines his lantern and continues inward. The dark corridor lights up and reveals a room ahead that seems to be full of furniture. From where you stand you see a circular cave room about 20'. To one end is some kind of small passageway that looks almost partially hidden. In the room you see what looks like antique furniture including a bed. The bed itself is somewhat well made with the sheets tucked and the pillows aligned. On the bed is some fine clothes belonging to a maiden.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Wuhn checks for traps and is assured there is none.

You still venture into the cave room cautiously. The room looks different to the others. It seems to be more maintained - swept and cleaned as though someone important was here. On the bed is fine linen and the antique furniture could pick up a good sale at the market.

Under the bed and in the chest you find nothing.

The small passageway leads to what seems to be a smaller cave room that is only about 10' in diameter. Wuhn explains that the passageway's entrance was part of an elaborate secret entrance that has now been disabled. Without having entered and from where you stand you see some stone like devil statue to one end of the small cave room.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Wuhu checks the room for traps and cannot be sure there are none within but in a slightly stuttering voice he feels there could be.

GM: Say what you wish to do now. I should mention that checking an item for traps is not the same as checking one object for traps, however one roll can be applied to everything if you wish - you just need to state if you want to use your checks separate or not.

Darkness Southern

The Game Master says...

You intend to not pass up this dark cave room believing that there might be treasure here.

Against better judgment Wuhn enters the room and declares it 'safe'. From what he can tell there used to be a big chest here with something heavy. He can see that it was dragged out by the markings on the ground. There is some candle wax drippings around a strange symbol on one part of the cave wall and on the ground. They look painted on with dried blood.

You examine the statue. It looks like that of a demon but not very well put together. Whomever chiseled it out of stone tried their best to make it look menacing but it almost looks childlike or that it was designed by a child. It stands about six feet tall and looks very heavy, possibly a reason why it was not moved.

The Game Master says...

You pull the elegant looking sheets from off the bed and fasten it in such a manner so as to loop around the statue. You do so and begin pulling. The party is fairly strong so within a moment the demon falls to the ground with aloud thud. You wait awhile to see if anything happens but it appears nothing does as you watch on.

The Game Master says...

Using the following rolls: 87, 32, 32, 92, 26

Wuhn checks for traps but is unsure anything is there. You look around the statue but find nothing apparent. You leave this room and venture deeper into the cave by heading South. You first enter the small cave room where there was a small bar. Wuhn checks for traps and is assured it is safe. Nothing here is of value or worth your time at the moment so you continue further as a light breeze hits your faces. You come to a dome shaped cave that has a rickety bridge crossing a small river below. On the other side you see the cave continues.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Wuhn looks at the clear river below and does not see anything that will be harmful towards the party. It seems to be about a foot in depth and nothing moves within save for very small fish few in number.

Wuhn checks the bridge. He notes that not more than one person should cross the bridge at a time and with both hands holding to the ropes otherwise there is risk of toppling. You follow this advice and make it across safely. At the other end you see the cave's tunnel go about 15'-20' and then meets a very heavy door similar to the one that was seen by the room with the bed. It is built in such a manner that you cannot tell at all what is on the other end neither does any sound emanate from it.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.
