Running Of The Bulls

I'm sure you seen this crazy event that's held annually in Spain. All the streets are blocked off in a town and they release several wild bulls into the streets. The streets are full of young, crazy ,daredevils. Some of these daredevils come from all over the world to participate in this ritual or what ever you want to call it. What goes through the minds of these adrenaline junkies ? I'm sorry, but I don't see anything fun about dodging charging bulls that weigh a ton. Is this considered a sport or just some tradition they honor every year ? If it is a sport, what is the object of the game ? What do you do to win ? How many bulls are released at a time ? Is there a winner and if so, how do you win ? I guess if you are still standing after it's all over, you are considered a winner. Can anyone tell me about this event. Are there any rules or regulations ? And if it's not a sport than it must be a tradition ? What does this tradition symbolize ?

Some traditions need to die, instead this one hopes to see the bull die instead. I think it is both a cruel and dangerous tradition, one that I guess you would have to be grown up in the heart of to understand and relate too.

I think Bullfighting is a cruel sport. I seen one in person. The fans really get into it. They boo the bullfighter if he doesn't jab the sword all the way in his back. They don't want to see any blade of the sword showing. When the bullfighter's give a outstanding performance the women throw their purse and flowers out to him.

I don't feel sorry for them. No one feels sorry for the bull(S) that have to go through so much pain that they call entertainment.
