"Since
Mormons do in fact believe that the Book of Mormon is a volume
of sacred scripture which bears records of Christ and teaches
the doctrines of his gospel in plainess, perfection, and purity,
it follows that in a purely figurative sense it might be said
to be a Mormon Bible. But in the sense that it is in any way intended
to replace the Bible itself such a claim is false."
