Introduction
Dr. Lane's research has spanned almost 30 years when he first developed the multi-sensory approach. His higher degree covered research with children in special schools for those with learning difficulties and his PhD was based on research into the self-voice under the auspices of Exeter and Birmingham Universities. As a method of improving both reading and spelling, this method has been used in Literacy Summer Schools, mainstream and special schools for a range of abilities across the UK. A.R.R.O.W. has been proven to alter neural processes of students, particularly with references to internalising skills. The self-reinforcing response of students undertaking A.R.R.O.W. promotes motivation and interest with resulting increases in attention and self-esteem. For the first time in the Caribbean, A.R.R.O.W. is now available in Trinidad and Tobago, with its office based in Port of Spain, the only registered and accredited A.R.R.O.W. centre in the region. |

The A.R.R.O.W. eight-hour programme requires a child to complete specific computer based cognitive development exercises. Reading and / or spelling ages are propelled forward at a average of seven months per programme. Confidence Building* each child experiences independency and immediate positive feedback during the programme. Increase in confidence is a powerful and influential experience users of ARROW achieve, opening unlimited doors for future goals and opportunities for success. Listening Skills* Listening skills are also enhanced during the programme. Studies have shown that children
who have learning difficulties are also likely to have poor listening
skills. Such skills are vital for successful literacy, and results show
that after ARROW tuition, background noise becomes less of a distraction
during instruction in the classroom and in many other situations. Other
benefits include improved memory, communication skills, speech, concentration
skills and handwriting skills.
