Putting out a trillion dollars to hire 600,000 government workers isn't going to save the economy -- it's going to increase the size of our government to an unsustainable level.
Okay, give the "money" to the citizens... at $500 or so per family? That won't do anything -- remember the few hundred dollars that was put out last summer? Nothing happened.
All that this pre-spending is doing is buying a few months into the future. It's not solving anything. Economic trouble comes in cycles, and we are at or near the bottom right now. All the "money" being flung around will eventually come due, and it may be years before this economy turns around.
Obama's good at speeches, etc., but will his team of advisors and experts really be able to make changes? I'm still reeling over Leon Panneta as head of the CIA, and some CNN reporter as Surgeon General. It's going to be a crazy year ahead, and beyond that, who can tell anything?!?
