Character Description
A first generation citizen of Athens, Elymas received combat training in his youth from his father, as it was expected of those like him to be prepared for military action. He never saw heavy combat, but still bears his armor well.

He rarely wears it at his current age of course, instead favoring a fairly traditional tebenna. His favorite is grey with blue trim.

Not the most pleasant of men, Elymas speaks his mind frankly. On the other hand, he rarely lies, and one can often be sure he has reached any conclusions for a reason.

In nearly all aspects of his life, Elymas is fastidious to a fault. Preferring neatness, order, and cleanliness, he will often spend time adjusting things in the homes of others when he thinks none are looking.
Character History
His family hails from Egypt, refugees from one of the many rebellions against the Persian empire. They managed to amass enough wealth to set Elymas, the first of their line to be recognized as an Athenian citizen, on the path to being an intellectual.

A long standing oddball among Greek intellectuals, Elymas has principally focused on the "natural sciences" as opposed to concepts that have little testable form. He often champions unpopular theorems that have him skirting the line between facing off against a majority, and straight up being derided by his peers. His insight into certain matters however makes him and his reasoning very difficult to ignore, and there are a small few who name him among the great philosophers of Athens.

The sudden appearance of the strange new phenomenons have led to a great deal of excitement on his part. He has spent the past ten years studying these, how it relates to what is known of the world, and especially how it seems to be changing the world itself. He has also put a great deal of effort into identifying the source, cause and/or purpose of this new energy, but has yet to formulate a theory that matches the few scraps of evidence available.
