Character History
Born the eldest child to a wealthy merchant in the area known as The Border Kingdoms around the Lake of Storms, I grew up around ships and the sea. As I grew, I was able to take small trips with my father on the ships and doing so got to know Ian, the caption's first mate. When I came of age, around age 10, I left home and went on the ship as a deck hand. Ian knew I wanted to learn more and took me under his wing and taught me the other things about a ship, like how to use a sextant to locate where you are by the Sun and Stars, and how to plot the course on the map so one knows where they are. By the time I reached my teen years, I was more comfortable on the sea and the ship than I was on land or at home.
It was upon a longer trip than normal; that the ship gets caught by what we thought was just a small storm, but ended up to be much more. As we prepared for the storm, by lowering some of the sails, we soon are lowering the rest as the winds pickup in intensity. The waves are now huge as the ship rocks up and down and back and forth on them. It seemed to go on for days, but we all survived it intact. Once the storm passed we find out we got blown off our course. As we where heading back on the course we needed, we were attacked by a ship of ruthless pirates. They took out the masts so we were not able to go anywhere, then boarded our ship killed the caption and the crew. They also plundered the goods and gold on board, and upon finding out I was female, beat me and left me for dead after setting the ship on fire. After the pirates left I was able to get up and gather my items and what gold I had hidden in my room and into a lifeboat. I then row away from the ship that was beginning to sink into the depths of the sea.
Using the navigation tools I took from the captions cabin along with the map I am able to head to what I believe is the nearest land. After what seemed to be weeks at sea, I wake up to find myself on land and I barely make out the ships in the harbor not far from where I am. I am found by some townfolk who where walking along the beach. They tell me I am in the port town of Waterdown and take me and my things to the local Inn to get some needed care and food. I stay in bed for at least a week or two in order to fully recover from my beating. Once I am giving a good bill of health, I go looking for work, I've been laying around long enough and wanted to pay the people for their generosity. I find out that there is a caravan of merchants in need of guards and offer my services, which they accept. My travels with these merchants takes my to places like Deep Maw, the port cities of Hillsfar and Elventown along The Moonsea. I ask around about a certain band of pirates while we are there, but no one had encountered them. On another trip I come to the port cities of Hardale and Seardale along The Dragon Reach. I again ask around about a certain band of pirates, I find out that they had been seen to the North around the town of Balder's Gate. It just happens to be the next and last stop of the caravan I am with.
Upon arriving at Balder's Gate; I am given my pay and head to the local Inn, were I get a room and then head back down to the common room where I get a meal and have a few ales. While there, I hear of a Mr. Creel who might be able to help me with some information on the certain band of pirates I am looking for. I pay for my ales and slowly stumble up the stairs to my room for some sleep, for tomorrow I shall go seek out this Mr.Creel.
