Two Trees in Eden - Page 2

For those who have been to the Temple, remember how Eve described the fruit after she partook for it.

LDS_Forever, I think you may have it backwards, the Fruit of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil was in fact a very bitter

I do not know if you have been to the Temple but as Joheri pointed out, Eve describes the fruit of that tree in a "particular way" that for obvious reasons I cannot share here.

Also, Lehi describes the two trees in a general form "even the forbidden fruit in opposition to the tree of life; the one being sweet and the other bitter.

He just says "The" and "The other" without clarifying which one he is referring to.

I haven't been to the temple yet, but it doesn't make sense that the Tree of Life, which is suppose to give eternal life should be bitter when eternal life is the sweetest gift we can receive. Like wise the Tree of Knowledge brought death into the world, which is very bitter for the fact it seperates us from our bodies.

But how is going to make sense if you have not been to the Temple as yet? Maybe when you go to the Temple, you will know what I mean and it will make sense to you. (particularly with regards to the Tree of Good and Evil)

This is what we have from scripture discribing what Eve thought of the fruit, which I believe comes from her believing in satan's lie:

Moses 4:12

QUOTE
12 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it became pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make her wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and also gave unto her husband with her, and he did eat.

When I see how she was thinking it reminds me of the same psychological effects of people who start smoking. They probably have friends telling them it tastes great and that they will look good (being wise and pleasant to the eyes) while smoking. The fruit being good for food doesn't necesarily mean it tasted good, but merely that it was good enough to be eaten.

The wording is a bit different in the Temple but at same time, I don't think it makes a difference. Eve is still believing a lie.

I did not get chance to say anything, but I had to move this here because of the references to the temple and 'clues' given. I would rather nothing about the inner workings of the temple be for public reading, especially because non-LDS and antis regularly browse our Boards.

Rather off topic, but...
Interesting to note. We get over 3,000 unique visitors per day on this Community. Surprising isn't it? Most of them like to read our content as one would CNN, etc.
