That is where trust must come in because conversely the same argument (as I have already given) can be made about the parent exercising the power to give over a car (which can be considered an instrument of deadly force) foolishly to a minor. Wether right or wrong most people will readily believe (trust) that the collective (government) is more likely to come up with a better plan (regulations) to drive on public roads (owned by people in general) than one individual is for the collective.
Offtopic but, As in everything else, if the people do not like something (such a foolish law given by the government) then they have to make the change, wether through peaceful means or force, but this is not the board to continue that topic of discussion. |
