Future Earth - Jungle Biowarfare RPG - Page 23

The Game Master says...

You decide to stand with the natives against the visibly upset monkeys. As you stand there looking up you slowly position yourselves to what you believe are vantage points for combat but the monkeys leap from tree to tree without losing you. More and more monkeys appear, this seems to be their grounds and you have trespassed on it carrying the blood of one of its own. In defiance, the natives show their yellow blood coated teeth and raise their weapons to show they are not afraid. This infuriates the monkeys as they gather their numbers.

GM: I need combat rolls for Seth and Artemis using the FE Combat Dice via the Text Role-playing Game Dice Page.

RPG Biowarfare Jungle Earth Future

The Game Master says...

Despite having meager weapons and absolutely no significant armor, but your cheap civilian clothes, you choose open combat in a revenge war of 'lower' beings that is not yours.

The agile Monkeys here are those of the more intelligent variety so they do not come at you directly but leap, dodge and plan in groups. They are emitting a very boisterous roaring sound that can be considered quite deafening. Some are quite large, larger than man when erect while the majority are smaller, like a medium sized dog.

Your knowledge: Monkeys are known to have great strength, and strong teeth. You also notice because this is their family territory all are joining in the attack, even smaller ones. What is unexpected is that some of the Monkeys choose to use tools and missile weapons showing an even more tactical response for their species for which you did not prepare.

GM: All of the following action happen quickly, but I will slow it down to Combat rounds starting with Round One:

The angry Monkeys center most of their attack on the natives but you are not forgotten as you brandish your weapons in a show of combat. One Monkey leaps from a tree and almost in the process of flight tries to land on one of the natives. As the creature does so the natives shoots an arrow that goes right through the Monkey instead of sticking in his body. The large Monkey flops to the ground still in the same posture of flight - blood oozes everywhere beneath it.

Another ferocious Monkey comes from behind a tree and bites a native on his bare leg. The native screams out loud and stabs it in the upper back causing it to drop to the ground. In like manner, the native also drops to his knees in order to hold the blood gushing out of his severely damaged calf area.

The next native seems to be aiming his bow indiscriminately but not attacked yet or at least not injured yet.

Major has a hand gun in one hand and a cutlass (Machete) in the other. Before Major can react he feels a Monkey land on his shoulders. The Monkey bites (-1HP), Major tries using the cutlass at first and misses, so then he uses his gun (-1 slug) and blows the Monkey backwards to the ground with a large wound that leaves it helpless but still alive.

Seth sees a Monkey swiftly swinging towards him with its teeth widely exposed. The Monkey flies past Seth without having an attack, thus a miss, and a shot from Seth's gun likewise misses the Monkey as it goes by.

Artemis stands with her shiny blade ready for a precise attack as a Monkey charges nearby at ground level. Being faster than Artemis the Monkey immediately pushes her down flat on her back to earth while going straight for her exposed jugular. Artemis struggles but she is considerably weak and nonathletic making her speedily succumb to her sever wound (-9HP).

Uhura finds herself face to face with a large Monkey. Its long limbs seek to clumsily grab at her giving her chance to take a shot that pushes the creature backwards with a big but not fatal wound.

Combat Round Two:

The native that is on the ground with an open calf finds that he is now being mauled by several small Monkeys that finishes off the job through unsightly methods of eye gouging and tearing his calf wound open further. His last scream is one of terror that sends chills up your spine.

Another native sees an opportunity to shoot an arrow at a Monkey still perched at the top a tree but in the process does not notice the Monkey in close proximity to him. The native yells and then seems to stifle for breath as his groin area falls to the ground from a rough hack from the Monkeys sharpened stone.

One native begins to flee and you can see the Monkeys easily go after him using their faster method of transport through the flexible tree vines.

Major finishes the Monkey on the ground and then spins to see one leaping at him. His mercenary skills pay off as he shoots it making it slow before it could get at him, but unfortunately it does not stop it. The Monkey rips through Major's torso using a method of strength and slicing making Major fall to the ground almost in two two pieces.

Seth shoots at another Monkey but the slug whizzes by it without damage. A Monkey swings by Seth but is unable to reach him.

Uhura finds herself surrounded by some of the mid-sized Monkeys. They circle her in acrobatic fashion as she lets out a few slugs missing each time. Then in what seems to be a sophisticated attack they all converge towards her at the same time bringing her down like a small helpless tree until she is ravaged and blood flows beyond recognition.

With some of the Monkeys following the native and others dealing with the corpses on the ground there might be a moment for Seth to try and escape if he chooses to take that initiative.

GM: Damage is as follows:

Major: -7HP dead (PlaybyPost is out of the game)

Artemis: -9HP dead (KenGreen is out of the game)

Uhura: -11HP dead (FairMaiden is out of the game)

I have closed the Brainstorm Thread, it is not needed anymore as there is just one Player left: KNtoran - you can use the Actions Thread directly. Say what you wish to do now, if trying to escape roll against Soul.

The Game Master says...

Seth estimates that the Monkeys are distracted so he tries to make an escape. As he moves off he can hear the roars from above that indicate he is most definitely not unnoticed. At the same time you are suddenly contacted by base who sends a rather disheartening message as you run for your life,

"Soldier, you are almost at your end but you and your squad have served us well. Your actions will benefit all mankind as you have laid the ground work for another squad to follow-up on, we have your co-ordinates...."

You then hear static as a Monkey lands on your head and starts to interfere with your comm. The diversion serves well as a couple of Monkeys near your feet trip you. "Thud!", you fall heavy and almost instinctively start shooting the moment you land taking out a couple of smaller Monkeys, but alas there are too many of them. You feel pain, start to scream as you see your life pass before you... The light fades.

GM: Seth is dead. KNtoran is out of the game.

This brings us to the conclusion of Future Earth and this Scenario "Jungle Biowarfare Role-playing Game". Thanks to all those who participated over the years, it was enjoyable, however real life events have taken precedence and I have to concede. The FE Support Thread will remain open.
