An anger management class I took one time told me something I took as true. I was told that a lot of our behavior expecially angry behavior has a lot to do with our past. Most of the time it is the result of our past. If we can target the reason we act like we do than we can change it. Definately sounds easier than it is done. Yes I think that there are explanations for our actions.
For myself one needs to sit down to discern the differences between an excuse and a valid reason....I do not give excuses unless there is a family emergency or I am sick. I guess with children there's a million excuses but talking them through a situation may help that child understand that it isn't nice to pass the buck on to someone else. Being responsible is important and we need to model that to our children alot....
