Kyrroeth,

Rather off topic, but...
That's what a lot of people that are pro putting a moratorium on people from these seven countries are saying too, it just makes sense. And it's a moratorium, not a ban. This is being used for political points and it shouldn't be. Unlike WW II, when we used every single portion of our power to win, in this war we have to pick, choose, and fight a humane war. There is no such thing.

And to bring this back on topic, this moratorium is nothing compared to what we did to American citizens of Japanese descent during WW II. To insinuate as much diminishes what we did to those Japanese Americans and is a slap in the face to all of them. What we did then was truly horrific considering we are a nation of laws.

War World USA The Residents Japanese

It's embarrassing what we did to them. They were all US citizens. I can understand why they did what they did but it was wrong. That's part of the problem of judging past events through the viewpoint of today. It was a whole different world. People thought differently, not to excuse that behavior. I'm sure there are things that we think are ok now that 100 years from people will be aghast about.

Japanese Residents In The USA During World War 2 History & Civil Business Politics

In travel ban decision, Supreme Court overturns notorious WWII case enabling Japanese Americans' incarceration. While upholding President Trump's travel ban on Tuesday, the Supreme Court Tuesday also overruled a 1944 decision allowing internment of 120,000 Japanese Americans when it backed President Trump's right to limit travel to the United States by residents of predominantly Muslim countries. In Korematsu v. United States, the court ruled 6-3 on Dec. 18, 1944, that the U.S. Government had the right to exclude and detain 120,000 Japanese Americans during World War II because of national security concerns.
