I grew up near a kid who had Scoliosis. It was very painful for him growing up. Despite the painful braces and screws they put in his spine, it continued to get worse throughout his life. He eventually ended up in a wheel chair and unable to walk. But the curve eventually stopped, but not because of medicine or any other treatment. In fact, it got worse in spite of all the treatments. Some times the treatments don't do any good at all and only make life harder on the victim.
