I'll tell you why it sucks - the massive amounts of money involved.
An Arab Sheik can buy a football club for millions on behalf of a consortium that's worth a trillion dollars.
He can buy the best players in the world for three times what they are worth.
He can offer them £150,000 a week, put a poor manager under such pressure that he might pay a psychiatrist just as much.
A Russian businessman attempted to buy a toy team that would win him every trophy in Europe in three years. But he failed, it takes more than money to win a game, it takes heart and hard work.
What do foreign moguls know about football anyway?
All I know is that a ticket to a game costs more than £50.

It takes so many people just to make a game and the conditions have to be right - good field, no rain, etc.

Comments: The reasons why football sucks:

1. Massive money is involved with the sport. Why waste that money on a stupid game when you could put that same money to better use like for example use that money for medical use for example finding the cure to cancer.

2. Professional football players get overpaid. I know of some jobs out there that are underpaid and could use some of that money that is put into football. For example Teachers provide the foundation for America yet they don't get paid like they should!

2. TV Time. Look at TV channels, like ESPN(all sports channel), and other channels that show sports off and on. You could be airing better quality Shows(shows like discovery and the like) or you could take out football altogether in the NEWS so that people who don't care for that don't have to sit through that and wait just to get to the real news.

3. Popularity. I can't believe how many people waste their time sitting in front of a computer/TV watching football. Also the fact that some people can spend an entire day on the subject football also appalls me. Some people get so carried away with foot ball that they start to become delusional and call it "Fantasy" football.

4. Back then in the Roman times there was a sport where people(gladiators) fight for their lives in arenas against others simply for entertainment. Also there were immense wars raging on. Nowadays we use the sport of football to represent a war or the Gladiator sport, two teams on either side as they duel it out(play the game) to see who is the best. As since we cant purposely harm people for entertainment, we use sports for that same jolt of excitement/entertainment.

Sorry if it is against the rules, but I would like to appeal and say football does not suck.

It is the greatest sport in the world from playing on your own kicking a ball against a wall all the way to proffesionals playing in a World Cup final.

I agree the ammount of money involved in the game now in terms of players wages and transfers is really crazy. But the amount of money generated is into billions.

Comments: I don't see the point in football, all your doing is running up and down a field all day kicking the ball aimlessly into the net, it sucks so much.

Think about this, Football players get unbelievable amounts of money where soldiers, who risk their lives to fight for their country get paid very little. Football is a waste of time altogether!

Comments: I just think what's the point in watching sweaty men run around in shorts kicking a ball around! There are so better things to watch on my TV screen. Footballs OK to play if you like that sort of sport but like a friendly game in the park or some think spending thousands of pounds and getting violent and loud over it is just completely stupid.

The cost of Football matches can suck. I believe this World Cup is one of the most expensive ever. Keep in mind that of all the sports in the world Football / Soccer is one of the most known and most international because from a young age most children kick a ball at some point.
