I found it very worthwhile watching that video, and it certainly covered Autism from all angles.
I understand how frustrating it is from personal experience when your child has thrown themselves down on the floor, and are kicking and screaming, and you end up getting verbal abuse from passers by who don't understand what's happening but instead prefer to jump in with the wrong conclusion. You normally either get branded a bad parent for not controlling your child, or they presume that you are mistreating your child. This was echoed by another parent on the video.
More people should become educated to Autism, and this would save the ignorance that people at present dish out to others.

My son just turned 3 and I was wondering if he might have the symptoms of Autism but I am not sure how to get it diagnosed. I know it is better for them to catch it when they are younger, but I am still un sure... My son looks 5-6 even though he just turned 3 and his talking capabilities isn't as well off as they should be. He knows his ABC's & 123's but he just doesn't talk a lot and sometimes when he does talk it is jibberish... Even though I know a few adults that didn't start really 'talking' until they reached 4, I still have a slight concern. For those parents that took their children in, did you just go to your ped and say I would like my son/daughter tested for autism? Thanks for any help that you may have for me... and best wishes to you all!

Functional connectivity magnetic resonance imaging (FcMRI) may predict which high-risk, 6-month old infants will develop autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by age 2 years, according to a study funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), two components of the National Institutes of Health.
