Want to stop snoring? Try the didgeridoo

Kept awake at night by a snoring partner? The answer to your woes could lie -- believe it or not -- with the Australian didgeridoo. Researchers in Switzerland examined 25 patients who suffered from snoring and moderate obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, both common sleep disorders.

Thats it, my wife is going to be forced to take lessons! I have to have some piece in the bed in the evening. laugh.gif She would so kill me if she read this too. I am curious as to what particularly helps with the prevention of snoring. It doesn't say much outside of the fact that it seems to help after about three months of taking lessons.

If what my husband says is true, and I really do snore loudly every night, then I could probably do with that here.

I always say to him that he is exagerating, as I am convinced that I only snore a little bit laugh.gif

I daren't push the subject though, because he said that next time I doubt it, he is going to bring the camcorder out to record my snoring.. Oh the shame! *smiles*

I know here in the US they sell those breath right strips, which are supposed to open the airways and prevent most cases of snoring. Has anyone ever tried these and what were the results?

Snoring

Snorers suffer from nerve and muscle damage in the palate. People who snore may have extensive tissue damage in the nerves and muscles of the soft palate. This can in turn create problems with swallowing and contribute to development of sleep apnea. Treatment strategies aimed at early intervention to stop snoring might have beneficial effects in healing or preventing development of sleep apnea. Source 8h.
