Did you ever experience Blackouts? Was it a wake up call for you?

Unfortunately, blackouts for me were a common occurence. No, that wasn't my wake-up call, though should have been. People think it's funny when you've done things you can't remember the next day. The problem is, what if you make a serious commitment with someone when you are essentially "not inside yourself" during that time? What if you start a fight with a friend? Kiss (or worse) someone else's mate, or a stranger?

I have big chunks of my life stolen by alcoholic blackouts. It's a horrible feeling.
