Can You Trust Anyone?

It is scary the amount of children being kidnapped, specially newborns from hospitals. In this case, the kidnapper established a friendly relationship prior to the kidnapping that can tell you that in real life, you cannot trust anyone...

(CNN) -- With few clues to guide them, police in Lubbock, Texas, searched Monday for an ailing 5-day-old girl who investigators said was snatched Sunday from her mother by a woman posing as a hospital worker.

A composite police sketch is in the works as well as a search of hospital security camera video for a glimpse of the kidnapping suspect, said Lt. Roy Bassett, a Lubbock Police Department spokesman.

The baby, Priscilla Nicole Maldonado, was diagnosed with jaundice soon after her birth Wednesday. A woman wearing hospital scrubs stopped to check on her several times in the hospital, Bassett said. (Watch how the woman gained access to the baby -- 2:51)

The girl and her mother, Erica Ysasaga, were discharged Friday. On Sunday, the woman, who identified herself as Lisa Stewart, turned up at Ysasaga's house offering to check on the girl.

Ysasaga told investigators she went for a walk with the woman, who told her she wanted to show the infant to nearby relatives. The woman reportedly then took off with the baby when Ysasaga became distracted by another child.

The woman presented a false driver's license number and Social Security number to the mother to gain her confidence, Bassett said.

"I hope she has a heart. I hope she brings back my baby. She's sick," Ysasaga told CNN affiliate KJTV in Lubbock. "I want nothing to happen to my baby."

Anyone Trust Can

It breaks my heart when I see real life stories like this, I can't begin to imagine the trauma that those poor parents are suffering at this moment. It is a time that they should be joyous and celebrating, and instead they are worried frantic for the health and safety of their baby.
I hope the baby girl is found safe, quickly, maybe if the person is white, I am hoping that someone may become suspicious as the baby isn't the same race as the abductor.

Can You Trust Anyone? Reviews Consumer & Travel Family Culture

These days, about the only people you can trust are your close family and I've even seen incidents where that is not the case. You really have to wonder why people would go through such extremes and risks, knowing that they will have to be on the run for almost all their lives. I hope the mother and baby can be safely reunited soon.
