APPLE GLITCH STAINS THE REPUTATION
First it was swelling batteries, now some Apple computer users are reporting a very different problem, with their pristine white MacBook's displaying yellowish stains in the area around the keyboard where their hands rest.

This has to do purely with the material or coloring used in the keys and case. I don't know that I would necessarily call that a hardware glitch, or that it hurts the reputation of Apple. But I like the little clever name in the article title, "stained reputation" is funny. I can't ever remember something like this happening before so it much be a new type of color or material being used for the case.
I do not think this is unique to Apple hardware. IBM compatible keyboards / mouses do the same if they are white or cream in color, so my solve for the issue is to buy these pieces of equipment black. I think Apple is not known for making black hardware components so the 'glitch' may be more apparent.
I've been using my "Snow Owl" white iBook for over a year now, and haven't noticed any staining yet. Dirty? Yes, and I clean it up. But no stains.
But my work laptop has a silver and black motif. One area that is silver is right where my palms rest when I am typing. That area is very stained, or perhaps it is just plain worn off. The same happened to my old Toshiba laptop.
Perhaps it is just a new material that Apple is using for the new MacBooks.
Finally, take a look at this page: https://www.apple.com/macbook/macbook.html
You will see that the new MacBooks (with Intel processors) are available in black.
