I've read up on our new Justice and he sounds like a pretty down to Earth guy. He also sounds like he's a pretty strict Constitutionalist and won't try to legislate from the bench.

I am glad that the new justice seems to be a constitutional guy. I think we have strayed away from the constitution some and need to get back on the correct path, Maybe this person will help. I want to see some of the rights that have been awarded to some stay where they are so we can work on healing this country.

Chief Justice Roberts defends judiciary in rare statement after Trump criticism. Chief Justice John Roberts made a rare statement on Wednesday pushing back against President Donald Trump after the President again went after federal judges.

"We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges," Roberts said. "What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them. That independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for." Ref. CNN.

Supreme Court to hear oral arguments over the phone and stream them live. The Supreme Court will begin hearing oral arguments over the phone Monday - a small step for social distancing, but a giant leap for the justices. For decades, the court has ignored most of the technological and transparency advancements adopted by other branches of government. But when Supreme Court Marshal Pamela Talkin cries "Oyez! Oyez! Oyez!" at 10 a.m. Sharp Monday, she will be using Alexander Graham Bell's invention of 1876, but with a twist: C-SPAN, which will carry two weeks of arguments live. The court will kick off the phone hearings with a case by the travel website Booking.com to trademark its name. Ref. USAToday.
