Hi All, Hinduism is the grandest and oldest religion and world's third largest religion in terms of population. Only Hinduism and Buddhism are biggest religion in the east asia. Buddhism is an offspring of Hinduism, which teaches and preaches all the principles and morals of Hinduism. However, you know to have indigenous identity Buddhism tries to contradict some teachings or blames Hinduism in way to show it is a completely different religion. I can understand why buddhism criticizes the Hinduism because to get a special status as a Religion.

I will tell another example When a Religious Master with his ten followers was teaching them a lesson. All the followers agreed with him but one of them thought he should not one of these followers but he should be considered as an individual, he thought to have himself a seperate identity where people can recognise him as an individual. So from that momemt he always said opposite to what the other followers told. Slowly he was gaining identity and he began to preach to the common people which are based on his master but in his own style and at the same time criticizing some teachings of his master because controversial statements are more interesting to all the people than an accepting statement.

The man who wanted himself a seperate identity is none but Buddha who learnt all the great teachings from Hinduism and started preaching his own religion.

Hinduism was never spread or Hindus tried to convert other religion people like Christians, muslims, buddhists. Hinduism always taught that religions are different ways of attaining Spiritual enlightment and never forced its followers to follow Hinduism but Christians, Muslims, Buddhists have done this to their followers.

SO that is why Hinduism could not reach other parts of world and Buddha has used conversions to his advantage by preaching his Self Tailored hinduism calling it as Buddhism to the other parts of Far east Asia.

Buddhism's principles and morals are simply a improvised copy of Hinduism.

I can tell in the persepective of Common people who are not that intelligent or who could not understand complex Philosophy taught by Hinduism have found the Simple teachings copied from the Hinduism in the Buddhism more is easy to understand and got attracted to it.

Hinduism is not based on one person or group of people or strictly not dependent on the Gods and Goddesses or not even on the IDOLS. Hinduism is world's biggest library of all best morals, principles, teaching, and preachings. Moreover, the best part is that this library has a continous process of reviving and modernising for the 2000 to 2500 Years. Hindu saints, scholars and intellectuals have always taught that whatever preached it should make common people more diciplined and make his life independent of misery and they always state that root cause of all miseries is Human desires but not make him a slave of one religion, that is what happens with other religion christians , muslim and buddhists are slaves of their religion and over that they are contolled by the respective priests. But Hinduism is not controlled by any saint, priest, or any caste, all hindus are free and they can practise on their own desicion.

However, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism is dependent on Jesus Christ, Mohammed Prophet, Gautama Buddha from India. As long as their exixstence is there, their religion is strong. They always tell the other religion is evil and they always tell the other religion followers to be converted. Hinduism is the only religion, which did not disrespect others. Hinduism never criticized other religion but others have done so because Hinduism is a very complex religion as they are a collection of Morals taught by Great intellectual Saints, scholars for over 2500 years. And understanding is not an easy task because you must be an intellectual. But this same thing has been the weakness of the Hinduism, its philosophy is very complex not all common people could understand. Sometimes Hinduism gives me a impression it is collection of very complex philosophy from saints and scholars who either collect or continue on add for all the two millenium. I have never seen a man in my life who was successful in studying Hinduism in his life time. I think there should be organisation having eminenet scholars, researchers, good thinkers which should extensively study the Hinduism. Because we could not unearth lot of knowledge from the it.

LET ME KNOW YOUR MISCONCEPTIONS OVER HINDUISM BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY REASON PEOPLE CRITICIZE HINDUISM I WANT EVERYBODY TO KNOW HINDUISM BETTER BECAUSE IT IS MOST TOLERANT RELIGION AND FULL OF UNEXPLORED KNOWLEDGE. HINDUISM ALWAYS TEACHES TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE, KNOWLEDGE IS GREAT.

I appreciate your input on Hinduism. However, please avoid using all capital letters for full sentences or paragraphs.

If Buddhism was spread by proselyting, then how is it that Hinduism is still larger?

There is a topic open specifically on the subject of Hinduism, as well as one on Buddhism. I would love to see more detailed information about Hinduism in the appropriate topic.

While Hinduism is still a large religion, there are not many outside of India, or the surrounding region that have converted to it. Buddhism, I would say is the most influential
Eastern religion, simply for the fact that it has spread and grown to become quite global, more so than any other Asian religion. For example, you will see far more Buddhist temples in Europe and the United States than you would Hindu, or Shinto, etc.
