It is very interesting. During the Bush years, Pelosi supported Code Pink in their attacks against veterans, and the leftist calls for Bush's impeachment. She told us that dissent against government was patriotic.

Now, when dissent threatens to stop Obama's (and her) socialist agenda, it is un-American, Nazi-like, and Astroturf.

Obama Admin Distances Itself From Pelosi "Un-American" Health Care Comments

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Obama administration is distancing itself from pro-abortion House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who wrote in a weekend editorial that people who are protesting the pro-abortion health care bills in Congress are "un-American." An Obama spokesman tried to reassure the public of its rights to protest. "I think there's actually a pretty long tradition of people shouting at politicians in America," Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said today. "The President thinks that if people want to come and have a spirited debate about health care, a real vigorous conversation about it, that's a part of the American tradition and he encourages that," Burton added. "Now, if you just want to come to a town hall so that you can disrupt and so that you can scream over another person, he doesn't think that that's productive. And as a country, we've been able to make progress when people actually talk out what our problems are, not try to shout each other down," Burton added. According to various press accounts of Burton's comments, he did not appear to directly comment on Pelosi's remarks or repudiate them. Ref. Source 1

Speaker Nancy Pelosi Releases Misleading Factsheet on Abortion, Health Care

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has released a misleading factsheet perpetuating the myth that the House version of the government-run health care plan does not included taxpayer-financed abortions. Pelosi's "Daily Mythbuster" contains an analysis that has been rebutted by various media outlets and an independent political watchdog. Pelosi issued a factsheet that, ironically, contains few facts about HR 3200 and the various ways in which the bill will allow government-funded abortions. According to Pelosi, 'the bill clearly spells out that no federal funds can be used to pay for abortions." However, the Capps amendment the House Energy and Commerce Committee adopted specifically authorizes the government-run public plan to pay for elective abortions. The public plan collects premiums from taxpayers that are, in turn, used to pay for abortions. Pelosi also says, referring to the Hyde amendment that prohibits abortion funding in Medicare, that 'the bill preserves the status quo in abortion policy." "The latest version of the House bill continues longstanding federal policy, which currently bars federal funding for paying for abortions ," she says. While the Hyde amendment is not overturned by the health care restructuring bill, it only applies to Medicare and would not limit abortion funding in any aspect of the government-run health care system. I have not liked her since she was first announced as speaker. Now she is trying to tell us one thing while they do something totally different. Can we trust anything coming out of her mouth?

Pelosi Wants House to OK Pro-Abortion Senate Health Care, Use Reconciliation

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Leading Democrats have settled on their next strategy for passing a pro-abortion health care bill. They plan to try to talk House members into approving the Senate's pro-abortion health care bill with some changes and then having the Senate use the controversial reconciliation process.

Aides to top Democrats told the Associated Press late today that the plan is to pass the Senate bill, with some changes to it to appease House members.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her top lieutenants will present the plan to rank and file Democrats in party caucus meetings this week to see if the trial balloon will float. Pelosi already said the Senate bill doesn't have the votes without changes, so the question will be wether any proposed changes are enough to accommodate them.

The Senate would have to approve the changes to the bill using the reconciliation produced normally reserved for budget items. The move would allow the Democratic majority to pass the change with 51 votes instead of needing 60 to pas the bill over a filibuster -- which can't be stopped now that Scott Brown of Massachusetts provides Republicans with the 41st vote.

Should Senate Democrats use the process to approve the bill, Senate Republicans have promised they would do everything possible to disrupt the chamber to prevent that or future legislation.

The House would likely be voting on a revised Senate bill that would still fund abortions and have other concerns. That leads National Right to Life Committee legislative director Douglas Johnson to tell LifeNews.com that House lawmakers who vote for the pro-abortion Senate bill would be voting for government funding of abortions Ref. Pelosi lashes out at President

Nancy Pelosi had some harsh words for the President on the lack of jobs - even though the unemployment numbers dipped slightly. Pelosi told the President he was the worst since Herbert Hoover on jobs adding, "Job losses are taking a real toll on the financial security of American families" while noting that "while the national unemployment rate dropped slightly, it still stands at a near record high." Only one problem: these were Pelosi's words to President Bush in 2003. Ooops. Ref. Source 2

Have you read Glenn's take on the new element, Pelosium (PL)?

international QUOTE
Pelosium is inert, and has no charge and no magnetism. Nevertheless, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.

Pelosi: Don't peek!

Nancy Pelosi must be getting desperate. She trotted out the rarely used, and even more rarely successful sales tactic of "hey, vote for healthcare and THEN we'll tell you what's in it!" Generally people like to know what's in the box before opening it, but that's not swaying Pelosi. Glenn reacts to Pelosi's crazy new approach. Ref. Source 2
