This is what happens when a dictator becomes paranoid after a failed attempted coup and if he keeps it up he might cause a successful coup this time:

Erdogan Arrests and Fires Thousands, Bans Dating Shows:

While a hotly contested referendum earlier this month expanded Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan's authoritarian powers - it appears the Justice and Development (AKP) party leader is wasting no time exercising them. Source 8c

JB,

It's also what happens when that dictator is an Islamic Fundamentalist. This is very dangerous for Europe. Turkey is a powerful country with a powerful Western-styled military. Unlike many Arab countries that have minimal training, Turkey's army knows how to fight in a high OPTEMPO environment where operations go on 24x7. Their Air Force is also top notch, with the best western planes. Countries like Greece have to be worried at this.

I mean banning dating shows? What does that have to do with the failed coup? It has nothing to do with it. What it is is another indication that the Islamic world is at a dangerous crossroads where fundamentalists and radicals are trying to take over. We need to support the moderates wherever and whenever we can.
