
Godaddy Authorization Code
Those of you using Godaddy may be selling a domain to someone else on another registrar. Due to the amount of fraudulent activity it may be necessary to obtain a Godaddy Authorization Code to give to the person on the other registrar so they can proceed with the transfer (this is not the same as actually authorizing the transfer which will come through an Email confirmation to you):

To obtain the Authorization Code for your domain, please follow these directions: First, log into your account: "¢ Go to the Go Daddy Account Login Page. "¢ Log in using your account username (which may be the same as your customer number) and password. If you have trouble logging in, our password reset form may help you. You can find this form through the following link: Account Retrieval Page Once logged in, follow these steps: "¢ Select 'Manage Domains' from the 'Domain Names' menu at the top of the page. "¢ Click on the domain you need to retrieve the Authorization Code for to select it. "¢ Under the 'Domain Details' section you will see 'Authorization Code: Send by Email'. "¢ Click on the 'Send by Email' link. "¢ Click on the 'Ok' button to have the Authorization Code emailed to the Administrative Contact email address. You will also need to unlock the domain: Locking your domain prevents the domain name from being transferred to another registrar. You may lock or unlock your domain at any time. To 'lock' or 'unlock' your domain name, follow the directions below: "¢ Click the 'Locking' button from menu above. "¢ Select the option next to 'Lock' or 'Unlock'.
