The Architect has asked me to run some preliminary tests with regards to load speeds on this and other forums. Some seem to have noticed a slow down, some have not noticed anything unusual and others are carefree about it. Do you find that surfing now seems to be more difficult because of Seasonal congestion on the world network?
Absolutely! The day after Thanksgiving, I was at work, and visiting all websites were painfully slow, because I am sure most others who were working werent really 'working'. Right now things have picked up enough for there to be less Internet activity but next week and the following should result in some painful web surfing.
As a tip I want to suggest that everyone raise the cache limit on their browser, if it is too small then your browser has to keep loading the same page images over and over again. This is especially through if you tend to surf a lot of unknown sites.
Depending on the internet service of your choice you can also notice peak times of day that slow down your online connection. A common time to see this is during the late afternoon or early evening. Even more noticeable if you are on a shared connection with your neighborhood such as a cable modem. This generally is because of a large surge in internet usage from kids after school as well as many adults checking their e-mail and or forums when they return home from work.
But to stick with the topic Holidays are very noticeable in internet latency.
