QUOTE A businessman was jailed indefinitely today after his wife found sickening films of him raping a 12-year-old girl.
Kenneth Creswell had made more than 270 hours of recordings over three years of the horrific abuse of his young victim.
In one film, the 51-year-old predator even held his thumb up and winked at the camera as the child ran from the room sobbing.
On another occasion he berated her behaviour telling her she had to "Try harder and smile for the camera".
Creswell's wife discovered the appalling cache of home-made pornography when she was tidying his office.
She called in police and he was arrested with a carload of films, cameras and laptops.
It later emerged that Creswell, who ran a cash machine company, blackmailed the girl by threatening to show the videos on the internet and to her mother and friends.
Twice-married Creswell refused to answer questions and sat in his cell facing the wall, when quizzed by police.
He later told a probation officer that he would have carried on with the sexual abuse if he had not been caught.
Police said that the videos discovered at his home had "Plumbed the depths" of child pornography.
Prosecutor Sarah Mallett told Teesside Crown Court: "He told the girl that one recording had been absolutely horrific.
"He said that on the next occasion he wanted her to try harder and to smile for the camera.
"He made a reference to Ian Huntley (The Soham killer of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman) and also that someone might run over her.
"He said 'This sounds monstrous, but at the end of the day I am playing a game of poker with you and I hold all the cards."
"In one film when the girl ran sobbing from the room Creswell made a thumbs up sign at the camera and he also winked."

The sad thing about a case like this is there are mothers who know this is happening and still choose to do nothing about it. I don't know if they are worst than the heinous act.
