Earthquake Japan

The death toll is upwards of 1,600! Form what I heard on the news its a lot of elderly people because most of the rural areas of Japan has all the aging people. The whole thing is so sad.

Japan Earthquake

The death toll is quite likely to go above 10,000 as entire towns have been washed away. Getting food and clean drinking water to many in the area of the earthquake has been extremely difficult as the only way in and out of some areas is by helicopter. To add insult to injury, temperatures are expected to drop significantly today and that area may be hit with freezing rain.

Japan Earthquake - Page 2

international QUOTE (CNN)
Approximately 2,000 bodies found in Miyagi Prefecture on Japan's east coast, Kyodo News Agency reported.

Clara, the new figure replaces that count but the Japanese police are saying that thousands more are dead, possibly over ten thousand. Clean up efforts are happening fast but in a few days if the bodies are not all recovered there will be a huge stench and the risk of disease.

Vincenzo, I had not even considered the temperature, that really bites for those who have no where to turn.
