"It started out as play riding," Deegan said this week. "One guy would try a stunt and dare the rest of us to try it. The next guy would add something to that trick and we'd go from there." Soon, the quartet made a tape called "Crusty Demons." It became a cult hit. Based on the popularity of the video, the four decided to stage a demonstration contest at a rodeo arena in Winchester. A capacity crowd attended.
