Rowley is stepping out of his box. How he can tell women that he will show them how to peel cassava? First, that is a very chauvinist thing to say and out of place.

Then he says that he gets better service from a Burger King abroad than in the best hotel locally. He is trying to raise the people or put them down?

All of these things he's saying at the T&T Chamber. This is where we are heading?

A recent concern has arisen about placing VAT on books and when questioned about it PM Rowley said something to the effect that it shouldn't make a difference because Trinis don't read much. Do you think that's true?

Title: Time for PNM politicians to hang up their boots

Comments: How on earth can the Prime Minister honestly say that the government is doing reasonable well. When we have at present growing poverty, a crisis in the health service, shortage of gas and all signs pointing to the depletion of our oil resources. This is adversely enhanced by the fact that no real attempt is being made in respect of diversification although the politicians have been advised to do something to avoid us having to rely only on the profits from gas and oil. We have rising crime and lawlessness bordering on the breakdown of law and order. A police force unable to cope with the volume and rapid expansion of serious crimes here, and nothing is being done to correct this scenario, or to stem the flow in particular, of the daily slaughter of our citizens .We have policemen jumping on the criminal band wagon as never before as crime pays here which encourages them to make this decision. We have an expanding band of terrorist, and again nothing is being done to stop their expansion or ban this movement. More of our districts are becoming hot spots of crime at a galloping pace. Our roads are falling apart, many in need of urgent repair. Citizens are crying out for supplies of good drinking water .Many are now beginning to show their discontentment and anger by demonstrations and local protests. The prison officers are up in arms about their working conditions and of the aggression and welfare of prisoners. School children are behaving in a manner showing criminal tendencies never seen before on this island. The citizens of part of our nation on our sister island are suffering from a shortage of food and restricted movement between here and there. There is great controversy within our justice system and our politicians haven't got the guts to deal with it in a pragmatic manner. They just keep searching for excuses to keep the things as they are. There is the everyday perpetual conflict among our politicians. We have citizens living in fear of there lives afraid to even go outside the perimeters of their abode. We have a growing brigade of homeless citizens and a capital stinking with urine and human feces. Moreover, at present the economy is struggling to keep its head above water and measures to correct the shortfall in treasury funds are being thrown onto the shoulders of our ordinary citizens by forcing them to pay property taxes .This is despite the fact that many now struggling to make two ends meet. Bearing in mind the adversities mentioned above, and the comment by the Prime Minister, how bad must things get here before politicians consider that the situation has become unreasonable? Politicians here must stop trying to paint false pictures of our deteriorating situation and face the realities and stop pulling the wool over the eyes of our vulnerable citizens. In my opinion those currently in the corridors of power must quickly and effectively fix things that are wrong here or consider giving another political party a chance to mend our broken fences. With the constant but galloping destruction of the fabric of our society under the governance of the PNM I think it is about time they hang up their boots.

Title: Lack of confidence in or medical professionals

Comments: There we go again, a local politician setting a bad example to the citizens of this nation by his action which degrades our heath service. I am referring to the Prime Minister going to the USA for a medical check up. After 55 years of independence it would appear that our doctors are not proficient enough to carry out a medical check up on a human being. The action of the Prime Minister only assist in our citizens having no confidence in the practitioners in our health service.

Title: No contempt

Comments: The verdict of a no contempt charge against the PM for referring to crooks in Parliament as reported today's issue of the Express is to be hailed. After all the PM was only saying it as he sees it which can only be interpreted as the truth and you can't really condemn someone for telling it as it is.

Rowley won't cut his salary. Last week, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her Cabinet took a 20-per-cent pay cut in the fight against the virus, while St Lucia's Cabinet of ministers agreed upon a 75 per cent reduction in their pay packets as well. Asked if the Government was moving to cut MP's salaries during this crisis, the PM said the largest payment of salaries in the public service was not MPs. Source 3k.

Is easy for him and the rest of government to keep their salaries while telling most of the country to stay home and lose theirs, pathetic.
