Rep. John Conyers stepping down from top post on Judiciary Committee amid probe into harassment allegations. Rep. John Conyers is stepping down from his top spot on the House Judiciary Committee as a congressional ethics panel probes sexual harassment allegations against the Michigan Democrat. Conyers again denied the harassment allegations in a statement released Sunday but said he has requested to step down as the Judiciary Committee's ranking member. "To be clear, I would like very much to remain as ranking member," he said in a statement. "There is still much work to be done on core concerns like securing civil rights, enacting meaningful criminal justice reforms, and protecting access to the ballot box… But I have come to believe that my presence as ranking member on the committee would not serve these efforts while the ethics committee investigation is pending." Ref. CNN.

Rightly so, you can't stay in office with admitted bad behavior on that scale. All the worms are being dug out from the ground, who else will fall?

While he is stepping down or asked to resign from office I for one would live to hear the names of all who used that slush fund of tax payers money to pay off those they sexually assaulted or harassed. I am sure Conyers is not the only one to use that hush money.

That's the only thing he could do in this circumstance. How these people think that they can be the morality police of this nation while behaving immoral in secret?

Yes he needed to step down and this is something he is finally doing so no more of our tax payer money will be spent by him paying off women he keeps sexually harassing. I do not think his son would be a good replacement as he may be just as bad.
