Welcome to Lazarus, a sub version of Jerusalem Conquest. Lazarus takes you into the darker realms of MMORPGing, therefore if things of horror scare you it is recommended that you DO NOT participate. Although this is the Jerusalem Conquest Board, I did not want to create a separate Board just for Lazarus since the engine is basically the same. However, the gaming style will most definitely be different. Look to this Thread for information about Lazarus.

What Is Lazarus About?

To everything there is an opposite. It has been this way from the beginning of time. There is the goodness of God and the evil of the devil. There is day to cause light and the darkness for night. There is dead and there is the living. When Jesus was asked to raise Lazarus from the dead the evil one knew that this meant that he would also be able to create an opposite effect, but instead of resurrection, he, the one they call Lucifer, knew that his form of awaken would be in the form of the undead. The undead, creatures of the night represent the very opposite of goodness. Ever since the raising of Lazarus the undead has risen, enemies to humankind they roam the land with vengeance. Now they plague Jerusalem and all within.

In Lazarus, Jerusalem Conquest you are not limited to playing as human though... You can play as the humans, vampires and werewolves each with different weaknesses and strengths, so choose wisely.

What's Different?

If you have played ROK or the original Jerusalem Conquest then you will be surprised by the interface of Lazarus. The three major characters: Humans, Vampires and Werewolves each have different characteristics. The pros and cons of each are listed below and will be updated from time to time.

Information and Rules Lazarus

Vampires

When Lazarus was raised this gave the underworld the chance to raise their own. They are known as Vampires. In the game Lazarus if you select Vampires then it means that you work in association with them because:

1. Your deeds were so evil that you were raised to be such
2. You feel that working with them is for your own benefit
3. You were once human but changed to this vile creature

Vampires are not easy to play, so if you are not accustomed to playing one of our MMORPGs then you should not select these creatures.


Pros - There are some benefits to being a Vampire. In Lazarus you can:

* Take the sacrificial blood which allows you a stronger attack rating in battle than both the Werewolves and Humans. This is possibly the best reason to choose Vampire.

Cons- There is a downside to choosing Vampire:

* You cannot construct any buildings.
* You are not able to purchase certain items like Stakes
* During game play there will be certain checks made to see if you are a Vampire, these may have negative impacts on you when you are 'Reclaiming the Land' (exploring Jerusalem)

Goals of Vampires

Your prime Goal is to Conquer Jerusalem before a certain moon date (the date of end play). If you accomplish your goal then you will be able to raise an even darker undead within Jerusalem, his name... Cain, the one who slew Ablel. This will lead to destruction of all humans and world domination by the underworld.

Werewolves

Vampires have conducted experiments between the underworld and the living Humans, and the result is the Werewolf. Werewolves tend to be erratic both in thought and action. They care nothing for either side of the spectrum of Good or Evil and their main interest is survival. They know they are now despised of the Vampires because of their power, and of course they are hated by the Humans, so they live a life of mistrust. If you chose werewolves your main interest will be to survive the onslaught of both sides.

Werewolves are not as difficult to play as Vampires, but they still have restrictions that you should be aware of, but first let's discuss the benefits of participating as a Werewolf:


Pros - There are some benefits to being a Werewolf. In Lazarus you can:

* You can use most anything that humans can
* You can construct basic buildings

Cons- There is a downside to choosing Vampire:

* You cannot construct any Wonders of the World.
* You are not able to purchase certain items like Wine, you will need to harvest this
* During game play there will be certain checks made to see if you are a Werewolf, these may have negative impacts on you when you are 'Reclaiming the Land' (exploring Jerusalem)

Goals of Werewolves

Your prime Goal is to Conquer Jerusalem before a certain moon date (the date of end play). While doing this you need to bring the other Werewolves into submission by growing fine wines with an additive to calm them, thus enabling them to follow your orders. If you do not grow the wine then you will find that many of them will leave you or not fight in Combat.

Information and Rules Lazarus

Humans

Humans are dedicated to riding the world of the Evil of the underworld.

This is the easiest characters to play, so if you are unfamiliar with MMORPG select humans first and you can play the 'bad guys' later.

Pros - There are some benefits to being a Human. In Lazarus you can:

* You can buy everything.
* You can build Wonders of the WOrld which will bring more people to aide your cause.

Cons- There is a downside to choosing Humans:

* They are not as strong as Vampires or Werewolves
* You may die easier than the other characters
* During game play there will be certain checks made to see if you are a Human, these may have negative impacts on you when you are 'Reclaiming the Land' (exploring Jerusalem)

Goals of Humans

Your prime Goal is to clean Jerusalem of all the undead and lost souls. A major battle may need to take place. However if you can hold the undead until a certain moon phase then you will likely have shown faith sufficient to bring the Archangel Michael to aide you.

Q. Did you have to make it so spooky?
A. For some it may not be spooky enough. You should be over 16 and not faint of heart to play this MMORPG. We have others if you do not care for Horror themes.
