WWII French Jewish spy to visit Poway
At just 4 feet 11 inches, Marthe Cohn was an unlikely spy, but she was able to use her fair features and impeccable German language skills to convince Nazi officers she posed no threat. Sunday, she'll share her wartime experiences at Chabad of Poway. Ref. Source 7n
I love to read about these stories. People took tremendous risks during WW2. She also did not have a big way of protecting herself being so short and Jewish too. She did not have to shoot anyone but was a big hero in her own regard.
She must be a very brave woman to set through the dangerous risks of the Nazis, it is a good thing she has a talent with language and persuasion made her successful including her looks as well. Only women could do the job because there was so many male troops in Germany which can make a male spy who looks like a civilian easy to find, it must have been very hard for Cohn. We should always be grateful for the efforts many people made to fight in World War Two.
