RPG Lost Changeling

Changeling: the Lost is the new version of Changeling for the World of Darkness. It addresses on of my biggest problems with the original Changeling, in that in a meta setting called World of Darkness, the Changelings were pretty light and fluffy.Their world was bright and colorful, and they were, for the most part, rather happy go lucky
Not so in the update. In Changeling: the Lost, you play a character stolen from their mortal life by one of the True Fae, creatures out of legend with vast power and not a shred of empathy. You were used, perhaps as a plaything, or a laborer, or maybe even a decoration. This process changed you both physically and mentally. Perhaps you grew horns, and have hooves where your feet used to be. Possibly you glow with an internal fire lit within you to make you a better lamp. Maybe you are a creature of unearthly beauty, made to indulge your Keeper's darkest appetites.

No matter the story, it is uniformly horrible.

At some point you escape your Durance, and make your way back to the real world, only to find your life filled by another, a fetch created to conceal your absence. Confused, more than a little insane, and cursed with the knowledge that you can't go home again, you are cast into the unforgiving streets of the World of Darkness.

The Storyteller System works just fine as a Play By Post game, as it focuses on telling a story over number crunchy mechanics. You need D10's to play, and several of them, as you will occasionally be rolling up to 10 dice (If you have a really high stat and are tremendously skilled,) Character creation is a priority based process. You prioritize Physical, Mental and Social attributes, getting points based on your decisions to distribute. You then follow a similar process for Skills, pick you Backgrounds, (Which grant you certain bonuses in play) and select your Contracts (Magical abilities you learned to keep you alive in Arcadia, where the True Fae live.)You can be up and running in an hour if the Storyteller knows the system, less if you are versed in it yourself.

I love the atmosphere of this game, It is, at last, a Changeling worthy of the World of Darkness.
