Iowa Girl, 14, Abandoned at Hospital Under Nebraska Safe Haven Law

We saw last month a widower father of 9 who abandoned his kids at a hospital because according to him he was overwhelmed after his wife's death, now we are reading about a teen and many other ones have been abandoned because of Nebraska Safe Haven Law that does not specify an age. What is going on?
QUOTE OMAHA, Neb. — Health officials say a 14-year-old Iowa girl has been abandoned at an Omaha hospital under Nebraska's safe-haven law. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services said the girl is from Council Bluffs, Iowa, just across the Missouri River from Omaha. She was left at Creighton University Medical Center on Tuesday. She is the 17th child overall and the first from another state to be abandoned since the law took effect in July. Source 6z

Any way you look at this this was not a good thing to do with children that young. What could have happened is a scary thing and I am glad nothing bad happened to the children. I am glad the children are safe and being taken care of as the mother faces serious charges.
