Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - Page 2

Loved this movie! The only thing I wasn't sure about was Lex, was that his son or the same Lex we know from his comics? I also didnt know that Doomsday was bred grom Lex so many tie-ins.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! I was also apprehensive about Wonder Woman's role but settled into her. I am from the days of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman on television so this new actress, Gal Gadot was a bit hard on the swallow.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Reviews & RPGs PBP Anime / Comic

Dawn Of Justice rocks! Its the first time you see super heroes act like super heroes and not just buddies. They knew their place and capabilities and operated within their circle. This is what separates DC movies like this from Marvel which tend to be so loose that you really don't have any connection to their characters.

One thing I could not understand was the ship of Zod. How could the ship be so intelligent but not figure our that it was someone else impersonating him. Ever heard of retinal scans?

Justice Dawn Superman Batman

The actors are fine enough, my concern and frustration was with the directing. As has been mentioned before, the movie has created a grim and joyless world with an interpretation of Superman and Batman I simply cannot support as Superman is supposed to be a light of hope, a beacon of heroism and selfishness. One who works every day to help keep others safe and help humanity become better. I take neither inspiration from the Superman shown in this movie nor do I relate to him.

For myself and others, DC has caused what is called Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy, a TV Trope. Meaningful conflict is the soul of drama, yet this trope occurs when a conflict exists that simply lacks any reason for the audience to care about how it is resolved. This often being because the setting is extremely but meaninglessly darker and edgier, and/or all sides are abhorrently, equally evil or at least overly flawed to the point where any difference between the two is splitting hairs.

Superman causes incomprehensible amounts of damage and, unlike his comics self, is a dark, brooding, despairing borderline-humanoid alien, frustrating those fans who were counting on a complex but fundamentally optimistic character. Batman is nothing like his comics self either, even the criminals that don't die outright get branded, which we're told will get them killed later in prison.

There is simply too much negativity in the DCCU right now, with choices that I cannot help but feel is causing certain superheroes to be nearly unrecognizable and all around not very pleasant or nice people. These are the heroes that we are supposed to be routing for, or is it all about the action and fight scenes?

Just one of those movie goofs.

Every Superman movie presents a different take on Superman's history and life but I do not think either hero is misinterpreted. Superman, for instance is still full of light and truth, but he is being framed to make him look like he is a demon not to be trusted.

I'm looking forward to the JLA.

How is Superman still full of light and truth? He is so cynical and uninspiring, a darkness that blots out the hero he is supposed to be for something far more grim.

He is supposed to be a symbol of hope and the good that humanity can be, not a symbol of fear and distrust. One who proved himself, though an immigrant.

Thomas I think Superman kind of wised up. Remember his father is telling him to be that way for a long time but he always tried to see the good in everyone.
