Buddhism 101

What do you know about Buddhism? Have you ever been inside a Buddhist temple or witnessed a ceremony based on Buddhism religious rites?

international QUOTE
Dictionary.com: "A religion, originated in India by Buddha (Gautama) and later spreading to China, Burma, Japan, Tibet, and parts of southeast Asia, holding that life is full of suffering caused by desire and that the way to end this suffering is through enlightenment that enables one to halt the endless sequence of births and deaths to which one is otherwise subject."

Gautama, who was the first Buddha or the enlightened-awakened one, was a historical person and a prince of Ancient (South) Nepal, in the kingdom of Magadha. Scholars estimate that he lived sometime between the sixth and fourth centuries BCE.

Buddhism can be a religious belief, a philosophical belief or both. What is your point of view about this?
