Man ate a pepper so hot it caused esophagus tear

A 47-year-old man who ate a hamburger topped with a super-hot ghost pepper puree in San Francisco ended up in the hospital for 23 days with a tear in his esophagus after violently and repeatedly retching and vomiting. The case was written up in a journal. Ref. Source 6r.
