Kresnik clambers onto the chair with a grateful smile for Jesla. "Not to worry Maistir Archival, you had plenty else on your mind. Speaking of which, I think it would perhaps be prudent to reserve the area along the western wall as a residential area", he uses a stick to indicate a region encompassing A3, A4, and A5.
"We could then have the area below the north wall for trade, tradecrafts, and the arts, Dance Hall included", he taps D2 for emphasis.

I look somewhat perplexed for a moment and then realization strikes me. "Oh! You are looking at it from an angle, Kresnik," I exclaim with a chuckle. "North to South - the rows - are A, B, C, D, E, and F. The columns - East to West - are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6."
"It turns out I was wrong about the location of the Fort currently. It is actually right around D1 or D2, so when we upgrade it to a Castle, it could take up C1, C2, D1, and D2."
"I first thought that having an area reserved for residential use would be a good idea too, but the advisors informed me that there are many businesses that require a House to be adjacent to their place of business. They mentioned something about people preferring not to have a long commute."
"I would like to leave some lots for Watchtowers open, likely E1, A1, A6, and D6. That way we are pretty well covered on every corner of the settlement."
Looking to Theaton, I cock my head slightly to the side and reply, "You never mentioned the Park having to be by the water before. I mean, not every future settlement will even be on the water, so I had assumed you would want them to be central to the district. That way everyone would be able to enjoy them while travelling roughly the same distance - preferably in D3 so it is right next to where we will eventually upgrade the Fort to a Castle. There are buildings that require they be built on a border with water. We should save those lots for that specific purpose."
"Keeping the two remaining waterway lots open for Foundries could greatly increase our economy should we create any additional mines. The second potential Foundry would have to take up E2 and F2, while the third potential Foundry would occupy E3 and F3."
"If we place the Mint at B1 it will be close enough to the Castle for us to keep watch over it and far enough away from other things to reduce the chance of crime near it. We should have the Western Gate placed Below the Castle so no one can make any daring raids and escapes without crossing our path first."
"We could also place a Barracks adjacent to the Mint in the B2 lot. This would allow us to expand the Barracks into a full Garrison at a later date, taking up lot A2 as well and providing additional security for the Mint."
"I would also recommend placing a Bank adjacent to the Park, Castle, and Barracks in lot C3."
"All in all, this leaves us with 12 open lots in the district that have not been accounted for: A3, A4, A5, B3, B4, B5, B6, C4, C5, C6, D4, and D5. Since we are currently going to build a Housing unit and Dance Hall this month, Where in those spaces would you suggest we build them? Keep in mind they must be adjacent to each other."
"Also, after our meetings - depending on how long they take - I plan on going to meet with a fellow named Mikmek and his leader, Chief Sootscale. I had the pleasure of meeting them before being summoned to Restov by the Swordlords. Is anyone else interested in riding with me? I am hoping to strike up an alliance at the least. Even better would be to get them to join our kingdom."

Think of the old Battleship game boards - best way to see it is to do a Google Image Search for "Battleship Online Game."

Theaton - ICon needs you to roll 1d20+16. One of the Warden's responsibilities is a Stability check at the start of each month's Upkeep Phase.

Jesla nods to Archival when he mentions about riding to meet with possible allies. " My lord, I would be honored to go and protect you from possible harm. It's not my place to say really but since you are the leader of the kingdom then you should always have an escort to keep you safe. The kingdom would fall into disarray without your presence. I'm not telling you what to do my Lord. Just sharing my opinion. "
Nodding, my cheeks grow slightly red and I reply, "I understand. Please though Jesla, when it is just us in leadership roles and we are not in public acting in an official capacity - feel free to call me Archival. While I have always been a noble, I spent my youth in the Hills of Nomen with my only interactions being quick moments with my uncle's visitors and my tutors. The Baron duties are still rather new to me, despite my training. From now on when I go to visit Restov, I suppose I will take one of the teams of cavalry archers with me unless others want to travel in that direction too."
Kresnik hesitates a moment before speaking up, "Chief Sootscale, I suppose that would be the leader of the kobolds you mentioned before? I would be happy to come along, but you should be aware that his race and mine have had some bad blood between them in the past."
"I have no part in such you understand, and I don't know if this tribe in particular cares about gnomes, but it may be best if I stayed behind if there is some chance that they do. My presence may be… awkward otherwise.

Rubbing my chin, I ponder the potential issues for a moment. A look of determination settles upon my face, giving away that my mind has been made up on the subject. "I would rather you come. If they cannot carry themselves diplomatically, an alliance will be out of the question. Better for them to know right away that our nation will be tolerant to all that follow our laws. In fact," I add, pulling out some parchment, quill, and ink, "I am going to pen our laws down in Draconic right now. We should also look into copying them down in any other language we know. I can make copies of them in Taldane (Common for the area), Celestial, Draconic, Sylvan, Terran, and Skald. Caelum will make a copy in Auran. I know some of these languages are outside of what we can expect to run into, but I would rather be prepared than not should the need arise."
